Description

This project builds on an existing and successful garden initiative, ensuring continuity while expanding its impact on student well-being.

  • • Builds on shared spaces across campuses (gardens, connecting trails between 2 campuses, and outdoor areas)
  • • Focuses on educator collaboration (meetings that bring programs and services together to integrate mental health into classes)
  • • Connects physical, mental, and social health (outdoor activities with classes from 3 campuses that incorporate movement, mindfulness, and collaboration)
  • • Offers meaningful, real-life learning (mindfulness nature walks, planting, harvesting, team-building)
  • • Develops transferable skills (teamwork, self-awareness, communication)

From a physical education perspective, it reinforces the role of movement and environment in supporting mental health, while strengthening collaboration, engagement, and long-term well-being.
