Description

The annual Quebec Indigenous Science Fair, held from March 19 to 21, 2024, at Université du Québec en Outaouais’ Alexandre-Taché pavilion, was a resounding success. This event, which celebrates and promotes science in Indigenous communities, gathered participants from different backgrounds to stress the importance of Indigenous culture in science.

The fair aims to encourage Indigenous youth to carry out science projects that also demonstrate their culture, traditions and ancestral knowledge. Held annually, it provides a unique platform for young people to showcase their research and innovation projects while sharing their knowledge with the community.

Over the course of three days, the Alexandre-Taché pavilion was buzzing with activities displaying the scientific achievements of the Indigenous participants. Through interactive exhibits and hands-on demonstrations, visitors were able to discover rich Indigenous knowledge in fields as varied as biology, ecology, astronomy and more.
